Simon Scarff started his career at Horlicks Limited, UK (now part of GlaxoSmithKline plc). He was first in India in 1963 at Nabha in Punjab responsible for the marketing and sales of the Company’s products. He then returned to UK Marketing department. In 1974, he was appointed Coordinator on the Consumer Brands business in Nigeria. In 1976, he was appointed Regional Group Manager responsible for the Near and the Middle East, initially based in Cyprus and later in Dubai. He returned to India as the Managing Director on the 1st of June, 1978 and led the Company till October 2002. In January 1999, Mr. Scarff was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty Queen of England in the New Year’s Honour List (1999) for services to British Industry.He is also Director in several other Organizations and Chairman of Charitable Groups in India.
