Deepa Menon is the founder head of PVR Nest, a CSR initiative of PVR Ltd., India’s largest film exhibition company. Currently, she manages the Corporate Social Responsibility program of PVR to obtain the socio - economic sustainability in the society through the cinema exhibition platform. Core areas of PVR Nest are to promote education, healthcare, nutrition and rehabilitation of children at risks in the urban areas especially around PVR Cinemas and foster the largest film-based education program (Cine-Art), where we partner with local communities, corporate, government bodies, NGOs and INGOs to build programs to mitigate the issues and challenges our communities face. Together with our partners, we innovate and create various collaborative programs and action to promote large impacts on developmental programs and encourage a positive impact on India’s developmental goals - poverty, education, gender equality, healthcare & ensuring environmental sustainability.

1998-2003
Deepa began her career back in 1998 with Katha and worked for six years till 2003 as an Assistant Team Leader for media and communications.
Katha is a development India Non-profit organization that works with government on education and social development and on Indian literature. Katha is also a publishing house, which promotes Indian literature and writers.
2003 - 2005
Deepa worked with Heinrich Boll Foundation for two years as a Program and Communication Associate.
The Heinrich Böll Foundation is a catalyst for green visions and projects, a think tank for policy reform, and an international network. They work with 160 project partners in over 60 countries and currently maintain 29 international offices.
2005 – 2006
She worked with United States Aid Agency (SARIQ) for one year as a Senior Program Associate.
This program was supported by the United States Agency for International Development. The project SARI/Equity’s support focused on: (i) reducing trafficking; (ii) improving the implementation of legal norms and policies; (iii) fostering safe migration; and (iv) raising the standards of care for survivors of trafficking and violence.
2006 till date
Deepa is working with PVR Limited as the Senior Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility.
PVR is the largest and the most premium retail entertainment company in India and PVR Nest (Network for enablement and social transformations) is the not- for profit nodal body of the brand, aimed at providing dedicated approach to community development.
In the past years, she has also attained various international certifications on sustainability including:
- Common Purpose Leadership program (CSC) 2016 by HRH, the Duke of Edinburg, Common Wealth Countries.
- Corporate Sustainability certification from the Harvard Business School (HBS) Massachusetts, Boston in 2014.
- Swedish Institute of Management program by Swedish Institute in 2009.
- Certification from International Volunteer Program by the embassy of United States of America in 2007.
Deepa’s twenty years of rich working experience with national and international non-governmental organizations and now currently with the corporate sector has enabled her to use her strong inter-personal skills on developing strong and smart partnerships. The root of working towards a national developing initiative is to promote the power of collective synergy and partnerships. It is her strength to bring multi-sector stakeholders and build on the public - private partnerships, which is still taken as an ambitious approach. Moreover, her strong communication skills have made her competent to bring awareness among everyone and bring various partners on board. She has also authored multiple reports for the organisation during her venture.
